Encouragement Rider Eligibilty

The ABCRA Encouragement rider award was brought in as an entry level of competition to riders starting out in Campdraft. For your reference this is the Encouragement Rule from ABCRA rule book. (Page 33/34)

10.4 – Encouragement Rider:

An Encouragement Rider shall be 17 years and over. Has not won an Open age draft (i.e. Maiden, Novice, Open, Ladies, and Associates 17 to u 21 yrs) or a restricted draft as in 9.3 and 9.4 .A win will not alter the status of the horse. Competitors cease to be eligible to compete after winning One (1) Encouragement, or One (1) open age campdraft, or placing 3 times in open age campdraft. Drafts for Encouragement riders may be further restricted by age, geography (e.g. Shire), status of horse (e.g. Maiden horse) or sex.

NB. Associate draft is a draft for competitors aged 17 to Under 21 years of age.

If you have won or placed 3 times in an associate draft (17 to U 21 years of age) you are ineligible to compete in an ENCOURAGEMENT DRAFT

The onus is on our competitors to ensure that they only enter events that they are eligible for.
