Ranch Sorting Announcement

Please join me in welcoming Christine Rasmussen to the ABCRA team. Chrissy will be the main contact for Ranch sorting and will be responsible for the administration. Chrissy’s email is ranchsorting@abcra.com.au .

I am also pleased to announce some of the changes that are happening.

We are asking all members to register their login accounts with iCompete. By registering you will be able to access all of your personal information and perform the following;

1.Change contact details when this occurs.

2.Check your individual results and earnings.

3.Check your individual rating.

4.Enter events via the online entry system (as from 1 January 2020).

A review of all ratings will take place in December for the 2020 point year. Any changes will be advised in writing.

We have also started to use our new event calendar available through the website. From here you can view upcoming event programs, event results and in time view draws and standings.

We are currently entering results for ranch sorting dating back to the start in late 2015 we estimate that this will be completed by Xmas. Once this is finished we will have a complete record of all member's results and earnings. You will be able to go back and see your results and earnings from the very start.

We are currently working on a new website which we are excited about. We are working toward the middle of December release. The new website will suit many different types of devices and be more attractive and easier to use.

The Office has had to implement a lot of change over the last 12 months in all codes including office administration processes and procedures which has stretched our human resources. We are getting toward the end of the heavy lifting. From a member viewpoint, this may have appeared slow and of no benefit. The changes have been monumental and will create a much better environment for our members.

We have been working on some new Ranch sorting committees that are looking promising. The current drought and economic conditions are representing the biggest hold back on being able to develop this through a lack of livestock available and committees that have time. A lot of committee members are feeding livestock and haven't got the time to be away from home to run events.

Any member that would like to start a committee and run an event but aren’t sure how to go about it can give us a call we can help you get it done. A great example is the Forbes committee that started 12 months ago and now own all of their equipment and has run a number of events.

National Finals entries are now open for EOI all points earning competitors have been invited to submit their application. This year there has been a substantial increase in prizes and trophies (double that of last year) all qualifiers will receive a National finals qualifier Vest.  Please note that entry applications not received by the due date will exclude you from being able to compete at the National Finals.
